Oracle database + Excel?

The Oracle Express database is free, and relatively easy to use. Oracle also offers an Excel Add-In that supposedly enables the "transparent" use of the Oracle database (you only work in Excel) connected to Excel. Does anyone have any expereince with this combination? Also, if anyone is currently using Excel for handicapping, they might find the addition of the free Oracle database useful.
