Wow! is the impression I was left with as Empire Maker stormed home to win today's Florida Derby .. as well as thinking, "it's about time" .. he's been so highly regarded .. it was good to see this .. he finally delivered.

Anyway .. I find it interesting that Bobby Frankel is now considering bypassing original plans for the Wood Memorial in favor of waiting out the seven weeks to the Kentucky Derby ... this reminds me of last fall when trainers put their horses on the shelves for weeks and weeks prior to the Breeders' Cup Classic in order to have fresh runners .. and it proved unsuccessful.

These are Bris type pace & speed figures but they also work very well with the Beyer's. The key is to make these figures before the bris & beyer number's come out.

Why is it key to make the numbers before the others come out? I don't see what difference it could possibly make, but I always want to hear other's reasoning!

I just like to make my figures 1st, Than look at what they gave the horses. I don't want other's to think that i'm copying the Bris or Beyer figures. So once i post my figures that's it i can't go back and change it.

Gotcha...I make mine then look at the Beyers to find what I think will be valuable differences.

I also like to wait until I have the paper charts in front of me in black and white, especially after the excitement of the big races has worn off.

I just saw on espn that Empire Maker got a 108 Beyer my Figure 110. Midas Eyes 113 Beyer my figure 112.
