Watched the 2nd half of the MS-Auburn game. Late in 4th Qtr MS gets a safety to cut Auburns lead to 3-2. After receiving the kickoff, they gave up the ball on downs at about the Auburn 40. Auburn got a 1st down but then fumbled on a subsequent running play and MS recovered. There's about 4 1/2 minutes left in the game. On the next set of downs, with 4th and 12, MS goes for it and gets nothing so the ball goes back over to Auburn around midfield with about 3 1/2 minutes left.
MS was doing much better from Auburn's offensive mistakes than they were from their own offense so why they didn't punt and put the ball deep in Auburn territory to put the pressure back on Auburn? Instead they give them the ball at midfield and let them run out the clock.
Hard to like that style of coaching.
