No victory in Iraq, says Petraeus

The outgoing commander of US troops in Iraq, Gen David Petraeus, has said that he will never declare victory there.

In a BBC interview, Gen Petraeus said that recent security gains were "not irreversible" and that the US still faced a "long struggle".

When asked if US troops could withdraw from Iraqi cities by the middle of next year, he said that would be "doable".

Wait a minute. Let me understand this. We have dimwits like Limpballs and Hannity decrying Democrats who can't even say the word victory, and even doantion ads here for McSame with "victory" at the forefront, but when General Petraeus says he will not use the term victory, he gets a pass, becasue he might consider a run for office one day? Gimme a friggin break!

Big difference between saying we have not won the War in Iraq and saying we were defeated or cannot win. Does the article quote him as saying we are defeated and need to pull our troops because we can not win??
