Has anyone tested the selection procedures presented in Cohen and Stephens book Scientific Handicapping with regard to their profitability? Additionally, back in the 80's? I recall receiving pitches for a book/system by someone who, I believe, called himself Harvey Brody. If anyone purchased this book/system, I would appreciate his/her evaluation of it. Thanks to all who provide input relative to these methods.

I used their method back in the 1960's, I think the book came out in 1963.
It was a good book back then. They came up with many good ideas.
It laid the groundwork for me to develop my own methods.
Some of it of course is outdated in today's information age.
They stress the idea of observing horses in the paddock and/or post parade before you wager on them. A very good idea that will never be stressed enough.
I had some profitable meets using their quick angle to judge pace. It worked.
