We have to remember that our country,no matter how many Christians live here,is not the present-day equivalent of ancient Israel,nor should it be.[Although I suppose,the U. S.of A,could be considered a revived Roman Empire].We should not work to legislate Christianity to be the official state religion,nor should we seek to outlaw other religions..Jesus said,"My kingdom is not of this world."(John 18:36).He acknowledged that He was a King(v.37),but He also taught that until He comes again His kingdom would not be a visable bureaucracy but the invisable rule of God in the hearts of people who willingly submit to Him (Luke 17:20,21).When He comes again,He will set up a visable earthly kingdom.(Matt.24:30-35,25:31-46,26:29-64),but for now He is preparing people to enter that Kingdom (Matthew 28:18-20,John 3:3).

War is sometimes necessary.It is noble and right for a nation to defend itself against oppression,injustice,and other advances of evil in our world.For example,Nehemiah was willing to fight to defend the rebuilding of Jerusalem (Neh.4).The spiritual battle of which we are a part (Ephesians 6) is seen as well in the physical realm between conflicting nations.The war between Satan and God has spilled over into human time and space.We are involved,whether we want to be or not.And God will one day unleash all His forces in a final battle to defeat Satan's army. Rev.19:19,20."Blessed are the peacemakers"(Matt.5:9).Jesus did not say,"Blessed are those who pick fights or start wars."Our goal should be peace,both on a personal and a national level,even though there will be times when self-defense is justified.

It is in the fact that the kingdom of God will come to earth-the kingdom announced by Christ Jesus in the obscure Nazareth synagogue 2,000 years ago.It is a Kingdom that comes not in a temporary takeover of political structures,but in the lasting takeover of the human heart by the rule of a Holy God.

Thus in the midst of the dark and habitual chaos of earth,a light penetrates the darkness.It cannot be extinguished,it is the light of the Kingdom of God.His Kingdom has come,in His people today,and it is yet to come as well.While the battle rages on planet earth,we can take heart-not in the fleeting fortunes of men or nations,but rather in Handel's Messiah.

Stop.Listen.Over the din of the conflict,if you listen carefully,you will hear the chorus echoing in the distance:"The kingdom of this world has become the Kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ."

In that glorious refrain is humankind's One hope.

I believe that a dark time has come upon America, as we now proudly stand as a nation that supports, "Infanticide" to the tune of 40-million (and growing), and has tendered it's once proud and giving tentacles, now, into other nations, illegally occupying and destroying total national infrastructures in the name of freedom and terror hunting.....These were the traits of Nazi Germany, and now we proudly do the same, in the interest of our "growing fears" and freedom and justice for all.....

I am not quite sure what the Bible verse would be to quote, but I read this in that good book....... " In the end time, Wrong will seem Right, and Right will seem Wrong "....

I worry for the future of our children and their children's children.... We search for an understanding of why Greed is so un-shamefully rampant, or why our Courts are out of control, and politicians are thumbing their noses at their constituents, or how more than 1 out of something are in our jails, or Dope and Pornography, or UN-fruit bearing sexual relationships that diminish our nations chance to re-propagate itself.....

We can't for a moment suspect, that as a once favored nation of God, that we just may have turned our back on this Gracious and Generous Good God, and replaced it with Evil Idols of all Sorts.....????

God Help Us All.......Pray people......before it is too late......Unless, of course, it keeps you from your idolatry......

I am not a church goer but I do believe. It is the institutions that give me cause for concern. However, having said that, I also believe, right or wrong, that if you don't take your faith to the street then I wonder what will happen when judgement day comes around.

When our country was founded the phrase was "men of good conscience and strong moral fiber" and you read the Bible and you could pray. Today, christian children are forced to learn Islam, and Muslim religons in school but no one is allowed to pary or read a bible and creationalism can not be discussed "because it contradicts good science".

I have been trying to figure out where Sarah gets her power and perhaps you gents just explained it. She is a soccer mom and not a porno star. So far no one has accused her of improper marital acts. She is not a boozer or a druggie. She cares about family, sity and state.

She is a good mother and a civic minded leader who has tried to to do the right and proper thing.

This election will prove interesting in the light of what has been posted.

"What is wrong will appear right and what is right will appear wrong".

Here is my question: Do you gents think America has shifted away from God too far? Is Sarah a lamb among the wolves? Do you think that god is testing us as a nation?

Or did I miss interpret your remarks and you are refering to people .....on an individual basis???

Husker, It is my observation, that not only has this once great nation, shifted it's stance on religion, but it has almost turned it's collective back on God completely.....The bleeding heart liberals who now have almost complete control of our legislature and media, would have us believe otherwise, but I say the proof is in the pudding, so to speak........

Throughout the Bible there are numerous accounts of what happens to great nations when they depart from the tenets set forth by God......

There are those who would probaly pooh-pooh my take on this, but for me, we have only to look and observe what has taken place in the most recent of days.......Take New Orleans, for instance, Sodom and Gomorrah have nothing on this place....What was once viewed as an innocent festival by most, the Mard-gras, also known as Fat Tuesday, in it's essence is taken from dark-magic and Voodoo rituals, and has it's roots as a celebraton of the Devil......So, it is it any wonder that God has passed it's wrath onto the place that has accepted the abominations that abound during this time, at this place of sin.....I mean what about all the people running around naked, women unashamedly and lustily kissing other women in public, and those same women baring their breast for some plastic beads, as if they needed an excuse....... And I believe, It was by the hand of God that our great government was rendered, tardy, helpless and restrained and useless to do anything to immediately aid the unfortunates that were left homeless and in despair.....Our gov't is quicker in aiding other nations beset by calamities than the fiasco of non action by this gov't at this time.....He destroyed this place and it will never come back, no matter how long and how hard they try....

.And now on TV how often do we see Ads touting how weak we men are and bombard us with commercials telling us to get it up and stay up..Not just now and then but it goes on day and night......and Women get your vibrators on special today.....Did you ever see the the new one, where a more senior woman winks at a couple of younger girls, and declares that she has hers.......

Just look at all the other punishments rendered by God through the weather, Floods persist throughout the whole nation and more so each year, the Earthquakes, raging wild fires ever increasing with each passing year, droughts all over the place, dramatic temperature swings in unseasonable ways....All these are on the increase....Conicidence perhaps, but not in my line of sight, and biblical perception........

.The FDA now completely in bed with Big PHarma, is poisoning us in the name of great medicine & science, and they now rule our way of health- life, and they lead us to believe that the side-effects of their deadly concoctions are somehow worth the risk.......Big Oil is bleeding the nation dry without any consequences.......The banks have by their own greedy hands have ruined the housing market......The government is giving away all of our monetary resources to whoever they deem appropriate, and soon this nation will be broke...period. Our nation is the single most responsible in all the world, in suporting the murder of each other, with their sale of arms to any who would have them, even for free , if it suits them...all to pad the pockets of the boys and their cousins on capitol hill.....We fight trumped up and unjust wars on many fronts.. Our nation is failing in many more ways and not just by the above mentioned....what next ?

.God, I believe has attended to our nation, as he said he would, and we are beginning to reap what we have sown, and by turning our back on God we must all suffer and endure the new hardships that are just on our horizon.....

I fear not for myself, as I feel I am right with my Lord God, but I cry and pray for the followers of other Idols, especially those that have been instrumental in lessening our fear of God, and I have a soft spot for the ones who would have us believe that we are somehow related to fish and amoebas, rather than created in the likeness and image of God......

Are human governments the tools of Satan?
