While attending the closing day card at Saratoga I witnessed a disqualification in the 5th race that was (IMO) quite questionable. Taking into account that the replays were not the best angles to view the incident it appears to me that John Velazquez the rider of the horse put up bulled his way into the Jerkens horse that was taken down. I did not see any clear path taken away from Velazquez's mount and to me Chavez maintained his position in the two path and commiteed no foul.

I find it most interesting to note that Velazquez who was invloved in a very tight race for the meets jockey title was put up. I do not as a horseplayer question a great deal of the stewards decisions in that the majority are either clear cut or incidents that could have gone both ways. However this really looked his a home town call...any other opinions.

Thank you zappi

The foul occured on the turn. #2 came over and cut off #6, almost knocking the horse over. The decision looked correct.
