How many have maybe forgotten about this horse...well, come mid Sept.....he's baaaaaack:eek:
I don't think he's run a race since they went home with him back in June...will they run him once before the Classic? This will at least add a bit of interest leading up the the the race.

Their plan is to run in the goodwood as a prep for the BC. I'm glad this talented runner is coming back.

Me too....it'll sure add a little luster to the Classic. Be interesting to see who else goes in the Goodwood, and also to see if Kent D will ride him again.

Now they are saying he'll either get a prep in an allowance race or train up to the breeders cup.

It got me thinking, has there ever been a horse that ran a in a BC race (excluding the juvenile races) with only 2 career starts? Seems like a mighty tall order

Three starts:D ...and no, I don't think so...it IS going to be a very tall order for Casino Drive... I won't underestimate his connections, but sure can't see him finishing on the board...maybe we'll know more after Oct 12th...just saw CD on the show 'Pursuit of the Cup'...he'll run at Oak Tree in an allowance race Oct.12th.

He wasn't asked for much until late and they come home pretty fast, but it's hard for me to make him a major contender in the Classic off a win like that against non-entities. I could be wrong, but I don't think it's such a great idea to run him in the Classic. IMO they would be better of looking for some softer spots and trying to develop him into a top notch horse for next year.

He looked pretty good...against this bunch...slow fractions, which doesn't say much for CD.
Did Kent D ride...I couldn't tell in the video. I guess CD at least likes the Pro Ride...but, IMO a win in the Classic isn't likley...which is fine with me...my picks are gonna be Curlin & BB...my head may tell me otherwise, once the field is announced, but my heart has to go with are two stars.
I think CD's connection will need to get a couple of fast drills into him if they hope for part of the purse.

The race was a workout. I think he has as good a chance to win the Classic as anyone. He is immensely talented and has excellent connections.

Workout...yes...a fairly slow one at that!! Can't say much until we see the field...but as in any race...they all have a shot to win...but no denying it...CD IS a talented colt with good connections.
I believe they are announcing the fields on Thurs. 16th.

Thank you.

Ya'll need to go here
http://japanracing.jp/organization/center.html

and look at these Japanese training facilities. State of the art, and some more well-appointed than our public tracks! The horses have a swimming pool to work out in, as well as both turf and dirt tracks, and up-hill mulch courses as well.

I feel I need to help people overcome this "but he's only had 3 races" thing. They DO race, on the tracks at the training facility, the races are closed to the public. And, these horses power walk for up to 6 hours a day.

I think you willl be astonished looking at the beautiful photos of RITTO and MIHO and then tell me you're not impressed.

At MIHO, there are two separat track areas, 5 courses on one and 3 courses on the other one. Both turf and dirt. "There are approximately 2,300 race horses stabled at the Center. There are also approximately 5,000, trainers, jockeys, and stable employees housed either within the Center or the immediate area thereof. An indoor swimming pool for racehorses, an uphill course and a cross-country promenade course were newly added to the Center's facilities. The uphill course's length was extended by 400 meters, making the overall length 1,200 meters in November 2004..."

they even have a full veterinary hospital/clinic on site. they can do surgeries right there!

Our way is not the only way. Casino Drive has built plenty of endurance and condiitoning. the horses there have way more time with exercise riders than ours do....simply a matter of economics here, I guess?

somebody just said it again in another topic here "he hasn't raced since the Peter Pan." Anyway just needed to show ya'll this nice stuff and my point of view. :)

Without knowing the field size at this time, I would venture to say that if 8 or less are entered, you would be getting generous odds at 6/1.
I'll give him a good look at :6:/:1: or higher.

Well, I made the statement hoping that Big Brown was going to run. I was looking for him to be the 4th choice behind Curlin, Big Brown and Well Armed.

Impressive. Have you been there? Do they have similar facilities in Hong Kong?

Casino Drive captured my heart with his beautiful stride, his composure, and that brave move he made in the Peter Pan.

I do not think he will be intimidated in the Classic and I am looking forward to a huge race.

Thanks for that link, winter triangle...they sure know how to do things over there...gorgeous places for horses, as mentioned, state of the art, and they do love their horses...very impressive.
Always blows me away that Japan is a tiny place with folks crowded together worse than NYC...really like sardines:) ...yet they have all this beautiful land to devote to the thoroughbreds...I don't know how they do it!!

I do agree, Casino Drive should be a major factor in the Classic...and he just might be the one to give Curlin grief...I'd have no doubt that his connections are quietly sitting on one hell of a colt...he sure looks good and has the breeding.
Wonder who they'll have up on him?

It will be Espinoza. That will have to be some super horse to contend in a few weeks.
