Race 4 - #3 Renees Beauty (4-1) She is making her first start in awhile for a trainer who does with horses off the layoff in Melody Conlon. She has speed in a race that comes short on that when we talk about the horses who have run. The track has been playing well for front running types and she should be long gone in today's 4th under 5 pound apprentice jockey Michael Martinez.
Race 6 - #8 General Dan (8-1) He won first off the claim for trainer Gary Stute and then was put in over his head in stakes race. He goes back to turf a surface he has not over, but has run well over. The turf form is good as Squallcreek came down to Del Mar and won earlier in the meeting and the turf horses from up north have more than held their own down south.
Race 7 - #9 Tammy's Luck (15-1) She ran against the bias last time and won. She should love the added 1/2 a furlong toady and patient trainer Richard Matlow shows a lot of confidence in her by going to a stakes off the maiden win. Could be a big surprise in today's feature.
Race 8 - #8 Brave Justice (7/2) Had a terrible trip from the start as hit the gate, which is noted in the form, but he was also bumped by the horse next to him in his few strides out of the gate. He made a nice middle move to get himself into the race before he tired. With a clean trip he should be too much for this group today.
