Why would somebody prefer to go through 14,400 search results, while using
improper search techniques?

When they could go through a mere "37"!

1) names should be enclosed in QUOTES ((i. e., in this instance two seperate
names)
2) "r.a." is clearly a copy and paste error and should be "r. a." with a
trailing blank space after the first initial period.
a) One would think that even the distingusihed Frank Marion would utilize
the proper presentation of abbreviated iniaitals. (I'm sure that some of the
articles I have both digitized and online are guilty of these errors,
however I would "hope" that I've corrected the majority before making them
them avaiable to the general public; that is. . .unless I was purposely
employing "John Wallace" tactics ).

Such variations by turf scribes simply add to to the confusion!
Geers is one example:

"Pop" Geers (which he was never called)
"Mr. Geers" (which even his closest friends called him).
"G. O. M."
Ed Geers
Edward Franklin Geers
Edward F. Geers
and even E. F. Geers.

The variations of "Doc" Parshall are another smaller example.
Even later the inconisitencies/variations of Del Miller and Billy Haughton
by turf scribes.

Anybody aware of examples these days?
