Race 2 - 9 Bright Moon (12-1) Is the best closer in the race as she can run the final quarter at today's distance in 22.4. She had a ton of trouble in her last race as she was steadied early and she had no where to run in the stretch if you go back and watch the replay. The comments in the form do not do her justice. She has a couple of nice works in the interim and she should be coming late under Jose Valdivia.
Race 5 - #2 Nene (8-1) She was claimed by Steve Knapp, who is not particularly strong off the claim. This one looks to be the exception as he has a good plan for this one. She is bred top and bottom to go 2 turns and to run on the grass. She gets her first chance to go long on the turf and is worth a wager on the breeding alone. She gets an excellent turf rider in Brice Blanc and looks to be spotted just right for new trainer Steve Knapp.
Race 9 - #6 Just N Excess (6-1) Is the speed of the field and speed has been dominate over the last few days at Del Mar and this has especially been true in maiden races. Her best races on the form came when she was fresh and she comes off a short break toady. May not get 6-1 today, but is a possible single in the Pick 6.
