Warrent issued from Monrovia PD(not sure what for but some other forum it was mentioned a failure to appear in court on a traffic violation)

I think it's a tad beyond that. Deputies had agreed to take him into custody after the race but he apparently made eye contact with them in the pad and they decided to slap the cuffs on there.

The arrest occurred as Garcia was preparing to ride Jacob's Mark in the first race. According to Del Mar's president, Joe Harper, authorities intended to apprehend Garcia after the race, but took action quicker after the jockey made eye contact with the officers. Harper said authorities feared that Garcia would try to flee the scene.



Can you picture Garcia bolting the track during the race and riding his horse down the beach with police cars in pursuit.
