Race 5 - #5 Tactful (5/2) Is a second time starter from the Carla Gaines barn, who showed some ability and was sent off as the favorite first timeout. Ran a good race and with the normal second out improvement from this barn this colt should be tough to handle today. Look for new jockey Tyler Baze to have him in the mix early.
Race 6 - #2 South Cost (2-1) Is the speed of this field and can be tough to collar when he is able to set his own fractions as it looks like today. He is fresh and is working well for his return to racing. He is good alternative to the #5 North Fork the morning line favorite who will probably be bet off the board after his smashing win last out. The winner of his last two races have been stakes placed down here at Del Mar.
Race 8 - #5 Bowie At Saratoga (5/2) Is a second time starter from the Mullins barn who is sending out a winner a day. His horses improve dramatically second out and this colt should be no exception. He ran a solid race first time out and has worked well on paper and in reports since then. This colt will be tough to deny in today's nightcap.
