Well we hit with Topper Shopper in Race 2 and had the double from Race 1. Topper Shopper you can definitely put down as a horse for Del Mar course as he is not 3 for 3 and won easily. Feel confident this horse will show up again before the meet ends and is a definite bet. Put him in your book to follow.
There seems to be a trend now where the first 3 races at Del Mar are won by front runners and as the card goes on it becomes more difficult to stay any trip. This may be due to the fact that as the day goes on the track temperature goes up and slows down. The early races are run like the early AM workouts. Keep watching this trend to see if it holds.
Race 1 after spouting off about how speed is holding up in the early races we are going to pick a presser because we look for a real speed duel with the #5, #4 and #2 all needing the lead. Let’s go with #3 Seismomiter coming back from beating ½ the field in a grade 3 race. Flores remains in the irons and we think this gelding will sit right behind the 3 front runner and pounce in the lane for win.
Play #3 to win at odds of 5/2 or higher. Play doubles the #3 with #2 Pass me the Sugar and #3 Glitterman’s Fancy.
