Thursday's Longs MLine P1>7
Playing Win, Str Tri, Exacta 3 horse box

Chester R5.........185 Coon Dog 10/1 Tuna Whip 5/2 Homestead Branded 3/1
The ridgeling, Tuna Whip got claimed in last but Coon Dog beat him at 21/1 and can repeat

Chester R11........145 Southern Blue 10/1 Hanna'S Delight 2/1 Sport'N Cami 15/1
The filly, may have a tough time against older horses, but might get a trip behind the 2

Mohawk R8..........385 Pansel And Gretel 8/1 Great Integrity 6/1 Long Beach Tea 7/1
I usually don't like horses going for 4 in a row, but those wins weren't taxing.

Yonkers R6.........751 Ben'S Daisy 8/1 Hei Sze 8/1 Lettie Finhaden 5/1
Went after the leaders in last 2 races, didn't clear but held on.
Hard to leave out the top 2 ML choices, but I'll go for the 'bombs in the box'

Yonkers R10........645 Kurahaupo Diamond 8/1 Janns Bid 3/1 Reconquete 4/1
Big step up but gets top driver and is sharp.

Good Luck Everyone:)

For Mohawk R8, how come you threw out the 7? He's won three of his last four races, including the last two at a higher class. Of course the 3 has been racing at other tracks, and I don't know enough yet to compare classes across tracks.

When he wins it's usually on the front end and he hasn't raced for 48 days. Getting 2 longshots to beat him will be tough.

Ahh... the 48 day layoff is definitely concerning. I swear, there's always something I forget to look at!

Still... this horse makes me nervous. But I guess that's why the call it gambling!

BIG M. Race #6. Margarita Momma. 2YOFT. Stake Final. I always respect Jan Johnson training with filly trotters. Driving is sometimes another story. She was way out of position last week. And Pierce is driving first time. Lotsa early speed. I think she'll be coming late.

I for one am always skeptical of horses winning their last in a higher class in claiming ranks and tonite the trainer decides to race him in a lower class for a lower purse. What possible reason could the trainer have for such a move except that he wants the horse out of his barn pronto for reasons best known to the him only. Having said that the fans would probably make him a big favourite and therefore a poor value bet. The big layoff period is another thing that the horse is suspect.

I personally would not touch him with a ten foot pole.

Mohawk Race 8 July 31

#7 Danny Shirlton was indeed suspect having finished dead last by 8 lengths as a $1.45 favorite.

Nice call. Consider that a lesson learned.
