Gate Works

When gate works are made of morning, does the gate crew generally work the horses out of the same gate, switch gates or is it just random?

It all depends on the track, more times than not horses work out of the gate in company of another horse, (and it is usually at the shoot of any racetrack, where the gate works occur) if one of the horses has never broken from the gate he is usually positioned on the outside, just in case he decides to make a left hand turn into the rail at the 6F pole. If both horses have already been schooled at the gate and are just going to gate approval or just another gate work, its usually just luck of the draw who gfets the 1 or 2 hole (usually the gate works are in sets of 2, sometimes 3, but rarely any more than that).
