Del Mar still a mystery on Wednesday’s after day off. We worry about the poly track but even the turf is crazy. Two lower class races ran less that 141.00 for 8.5 F which is the fastest this year. Obviously the grass has dried out and very hard. The good news is the poly track seems to be playing fair and all running styles at least have a chance. It just makes it tough on us bettors.
Lets look at Race 1 a Starter Allowance 40000 going 8.5F on poly where 4 of the 6 horses are coming off their maiden wins. We will stick with #4 Lord in Command for Wesley Ward who has a20% win rate going from sprint to route and 21% off first claim.
Play this horse at 3/1 or higher. Play doubles with #4 Call Me Rhett for Currin and #6 Major Smoke for Becerra who comes right back from finishing a close 3rd on July 20.
R3 6F claimer for 3 year olds #1 Carson’s Copper is dropping from an Optional 32K claimer to a 25K claimer in which he was favored and #4 Tribal Mischief for Becerra who is deadly in 3year old claimers.
Play #1 at odds 3/1 or higher and #4 at 5/2 or higher
Play an early Pick 3 from Race 1 4 with 4,6 with 1,4 for total of $8.
