In tonight's (July 30th) 3rd race at Batavia, the #3 (In The Lane) horse has a morning line of 4:1.

Now I know that morning lines aren't terribly persuasive, but can anyone tell me how this horse could possibly have a morning line of 4:1?

I just don't get it, but I'm new at this and I'm wondering if I am missing something.

I really don't understand. This seven year old gelding couldn't do better than fifth in his last six races and he only banked 1 940$ in 15 starts so far this year. He finished seventh, 23 lenghts behind in the 4 000$ claimers he was timed in 2:05.3 on a fast track his last outing. The only positive sign, he boasts a lifetime mark of 1:51.3, the best of this field. He also scored a 1:57.2 win this year. Nevertheless this horse shouldn't be part of the trifecta. You never know in this game of surprises, a race is a race.

There are certainly some question marks with the horses racelines!

Was racing at Scioto Downs and last race in Woodstock, Ontario (nearly twice the purse money as Scioto), now at Batavia.

Hope he has "air miles" ;)
