View Full Version : Saratoga week one complete

A real difficult week for the action hounds at the Spa (imo). I played a nice waiting game and picked my value spots between the rain and the off the turf races and showed a profit.

Yet, had I not revised some of my morning selections at post time the week would have been a losing one. Some times it proves to be the races that you don't bet that turns out to be the difference between profit and loss.

Now I do not usually put any significance into the profitability of any given week
(however), my thought process becomes much more intense at the Saratoga meeting because of the vast number of potential value selections that await the prudent bettor.

I wish I could muster up the 'guns blazing' attitude at the beginning of this meeting but, according to my records the best plan for my parimutuel success is to wait and win...wait for the right opportunity and then strike hard as opposed to the chance flyer bets that some players hook up for big balloons.

Good luck to all and will be enjoying the dark day on tuesday
