Did you not understand that I did not mean a word of the first three posts? I don't look at politics that way any longer. Its meaningless to me that this guy read Hannity and professed hatred towards liberals. Its meaningless to me that Senator Ted Stevens a Republican was indicted, for me, there is no difference between John McCain and Barrack Obama. There are differences but nor political differences, simply cultural or personal differences.

I've taken a broader approach to Government. I've moved what you would describe as "extreme left". For me, I do what investigation I can and draw my own conclusions. I suspect many of which would startle most people here.

My HepC issues, as I exaplained to my Doctor is an entirely American problem. If I lived in Angola I most certainly would not be getting treatment, and likely would not be diagnosed and just be left to die the ugly death of slow multiple organ failure. Much of the world does not have access to health drinking water. Treating HepC is a luxury afforded to scant few human beings.

I'm lucky to live in a country with medical advancements, and progressive idea's toward making advanced healthcare available to the masses.

I am going to beat it. At four weeks I got RVR (rapid virologic response), and tested undetectable again at four months. That puts my odds at a cure in the high 90%. I have done most of the treatment knowing my odds were good. I have three weeks left.

My Liver was in bad shape , inflamed and damaged. The Virus does the dirty trick of fooling your body into releasing enzymes to attack the Virus. However the Virus repels those and they then begun to over produce and cause the inflammation. It turns your body against itself like HIV. None the less... I'm grateful for being American I have good insurance that picked up the tab to the tune of nearly $100,000

Some people know what this treatment is about. Its a bad bad bad situation. Many people quit and take their chances with a liver transplant, Using the medication has a high suicide rate, it can cause diabetes, Leukemia, organ failure, anemia, hair loss, insomnia, tremors, stuttering, involuntary movement, night sweats, chills, headaches, joint pain, depression, malaise. No joke.. there is only one reason to do the treatment......your dying. And there are a few days where dying starts looking like an option.

I had bad vision problems , at times I could not see anything further than 8 or 10 feet away., my hair fell out, my hearing got screwed up where I could not tell how near or close sounds were. Birds in my backyard sounded like they were on my shoulder. I was very nervous crossing streets or driving because my whole hearing sense was screwed up.

For the last 2 years I'm on Pegasys low dosage as a "maintenance" waiting for something new to come along. Now my body is somewhat used to the side effects. The worst of it is perfectly described by you as " Brain Fog". Doesn't help your handicapping that's for sure!
Lucky for me I signed up for Health Insurance 6 months before I was diagnosed (I am self employed & had been without Ins.)

You have Genotype 1 or 2? I have 3, specifically 3A. The empirical data is in my favor, but I don't count on anything until its in the bank. 3A is most receptive to PegIntron and Ribavirin than any of the six known genotypes.
I know people in your position and I cannot imagine how tough it must of been to go through this and not get the win. They will test me next at six months after my last injection, and if that is clear I am considered cured.


I quite twice. Once I just could not take it another minute. I decided to quit and started rehearsing what I was going to tell my family, my doctor, my friends and coworkers. All of whom are heavily invested in this with me. It felt so good to say "no more , I'm done". I decided I would go online and find one legitimate example of a patient who was RVR at 4 weeks, then quit at three months and remained clear. I looked all night, HEPC boards, message boards, health boards etc.. I could not find one. So I kept going.


Next time it was my mind overpowering my body. When I get low on medication I call Blue Cross and they Federal Express me a small cooler with my medication in Ice packs. I could not bring myself to order my medication. I stalled and stalled and then one day I had nothing to inject. That was a Friday. On saturday I stopped taking the Ribavirin and started rehearsing my speeches again. On Monday, I dug in like a bastard and called for the medication. They fedexed it, I started injecting again on Tuesday and have hung in there since.

I have two weeks left. I want to stop. I know I have two weeks left but when my body sees this shit coming in it does not say 'go easy he only has two weeks left". My body does not know the difference between shot 2 or shot 20. My mind and body go bizarre wacky wild inhuman on this stuff. I cannot wait to be done.


I shared my experience just to share it. I'm done, I have two weeks left. I hope someone less candid than me might be helped by hearing my strength and troubles. Also, I thought some people might find it interesting to read. Its not your everyday posting subject.

But I'm not hunting for sympathy or attention. I've fought child abuse, alcoholism, drug addiction, incarceration, depression and other serious life issues. I fought them all......:jump::lol:. I've overcome them all. This is what I do, I fight. I'm a top flight scrapper. When the clouds move in and the rain starts to fall, that's when I get up and start swinging. You don't judge a man by how many times he falls down, you judge him by how many times he gets up!
