Written with Mr. Eng's usual chatty wandering style and complete lack of understanding of the realities of the sport.

(Bold font added) Both horseplayers insisted they were not part of betting syndicates. Syndicates are bettors who pool their money so they can bet hundreds, or even thousands, of dollars chasing large Pick 6 carryovers.

I'm certainly glad he cleared that up. I would have guessed that both the $12 and $8 ticket players were part of a betting syndicate---especially the man who hit it at the whales' favorite hangout: the Cannery Casino racebook in beautiful North Las Vegas.

Wow, I never really noticed this, Tom, but it seems he's clueless. What if I have four singles I'm ready to live or die with ? Instead of buying two short-field races, by his system I'll double up in two of my single races, and only go two deep in my (*) races. :faint:

I also love having a "journalist" tell me something's incredible. :bang:
