So far, so good. We have been doing extremely well with our win bets. In Thursday’s card, we had the $ 11 winner in the second race with STUNNING ELECTRA who won second time out for Steve Asmussen. We continued our winning ways in the third with a front running score with PELELIU. Paid over $ 11. Although the Sanford was reduced to a 4 horse field, our two picks ( DESERT PARTY and OFFICER IPOD) ran 1-2.

The weather should be drying out on Friday and hopefully we can get a grass race or two in. This is a good card and we have lots of potential plays. Demand good odds and be patient. Don’t bet just to be in a race. That is where your hard-earned money slips away slowly. Our goal is to help you be a better handicapper and improve your money management:

RACE 1- # 7 ELUSIVE QUALITY. Trained by the underrated Bruce Brown and ridden by talented Castellano. Has run primarily on grass but shows a debut Saratoga sprint last August. Showed speed in that race. Today, off the claim, Brown must feel confident and the fact that there should be some moisture left in the track and the Elusive Quality sire background, we wholeheartedly back this colt at odds of 3/1 or better.

PLAY : Win Bet on # 7 with 3/1 odds or higher.

RACE 2: If this is the premier grass tilt of the 2008 meet, we are sweet on the # 10 CHARLIE THUMPER. Mott and Desormeaux team up. The outside posts for turf sprints do extremely well and Giant’s Causeway is one of our favorite turf sprint sires. Maybe we will catch a break and see the horses on the weeds.

PLAY: Win Bet on # 10 for odds of 4/1 or higher.

RACE 3: We like this card more and more. Though speed plays extremely well on Saratoga dirt, closers can win more than their fare share of races on a muddy or drying out track. One such filly is the # 5 SO GLITZY. Allen Jerkens gave the filly a turf tune up last out. He excels turf to dirt. Castellano has won on So Glitzy before. Let’s get a price here.

PLAY : Win bet on # 5 if you get 5/1 or higher.

RACE 4: 2 yo Maiden Claimers, most first time out. We like two firsters here. # 1A DOCTOR GARRETT. This colt’s sire During has shown proficiency at first asking and mud rating is very high too. # 7 NIGHTMARE ALLEY trained by Linda Rice who in past years has won with debuters at a high clip. West Acre is a dynamite sire for firsters.

PLAY : Let’s demand a win price of 5/1 on both # 1A and # 7.

RACE 5- Maybe the turf gods will be kind to us. There are 3 horses on the outside who intrigue us. One is in to run and two are also-eligibles. # 12 FRENCHMAN’S COVE. Graham Motion and one of our fave young jocks Alan Garcia. Has shown good turf ablility in his 4 grass tries at Gulfstream and Delaware Park. Love the outside post and the first time dip into the claiming ranks. # 13 CHOBE has Garcia listed and is trained by the always lethal Christophe Clement. # 14 INTO THE WIND is another Delaware Park shipper and has shown a tendency to finish second (might keep that in mind for exacta plays).

PLAY: Grass only. Win bets on # 12, 13, 14 with odds of 7/2 or higher.

RACE 6: Think the # 1 REAL ESTATE is a vulnerable favorite. Why settle for a 2/1 price on a horse that has never run a 6F race. So, our top two contenders are # 4 VISIBLE TRUTH , another Asmussen/Bridgmohan match and beef up your wallet with these cats. # 6 AQUINO. Not your traditional Kiaran McLaughlin charge but we are enamored by the two races that Aquino won on wet surfaces.

PLAY: Win bet on # 4 at odds of 3/1 or better. Win bet on # 6 at odds of 5/1 or better. Exacta box 1, 4 with 6.

RACE 8: The Lake George Grade 2 is a compact field of 6 fillies and we are going to try to beat the top 2 morning line choices. # 5 ALWAJEEHA may be better suited for the second spot but we will try her for her first Grade 2 win. She won a Grade 3 turfer back back in Keeneland in April, and may have been heading to the winner’s circle in the G2 Sands Point but she ran into traffic. Has been training up at Saratoga extremely well and we think this will be a top performance.

PLAY: Win wager ion # 5 for odds of 3/1 or better.

RACE 9: Time to make hay in this nightcap turf sprint. On breeding standout point, we like the # 7 INTOXICATINGBEAUTY. Milwaukee Brew has shown great turf breeding in his early sire career. The filly’s turf debut was commendable and we think an improved performance will happen today. # 12 FANFIRE . The turf ability, outside post and Motion/Dominguez team inspire us.

PLAY: Win bet on # 12 if you get 3/1 odds of better. Win bet on # 7 with odds of 5/1 or higher.
