I'll be in & out. Lookin' to rent a nice spread and practice a little cronyism.

Might have found a place here (http://www.cyberrentals.com/rental/p153201)

Providing I can dial in on a joint, you're welcome to stay there anytime, Tommy.

staying on the lake.....the water is scary. It really smells like sulfer and you can't get dry aftter taking a shower. It turns your pans black. The bars usually have a couple of dogs floating around. not ugly chicks, real canine type actual dogs. I've been pulled over at a roadblock on the lake road. other than that ...it's nice. lol

Sounds like you may be trying to drive the rental rates down or you live on the lake and want no vacationers there. LOL!!!!!

Just got this advertisment/announcment in my email...and since so many of you are lucky enough to get up to the Spa, thought I'd post it...maybe some of you would like to get in on this 'offer'....a good cause, and I can imagine what it would be like in the box with Durkin during a call...what a hoot :jump:

The Third Race Call with Tom Durkin is back for its third summer at historic Saratoga Race Course. This fundraising opportunity supports New York’s Backstretch Employee Service Team, a non-profit organization that provides a wide range of health and other services to the backstretch workers at Belmont, Aqueduct and Saratoga racetracks.

Throughout the entire Saratoga racing season, participants have the opportunity to meet Tom Durkin and watch from the announcer’s booth as he calls the third race on each day’s card. A party of up to six people may visit the booth for the third race at $100 per person. 100% of the proceeds from your participation go directly to B.E.S.T.

FOR RESERVATIONS, CONTACT THE
B.E.S.T. OFFICE AT 516-488-3434.

I can give Mrs. Whitney a call regarding domiciling, but for joints yer on yer own.

we rented the Whitney's carriage house for the meet one year and it was fantastic. One huge main room with 4 bedrooms off of it. 2 of everything in the huge bathroom. Poker every night, and if you got knocked out early it just meant more time to read the form.

WOW...what a neat place to stay at the Spa. Pretty good price considering. Now if I was looking for a place up there, I'd love it...but wouldn't take it because of 'no pets'.... can't blame the owners though.
:) :)

Badcompany....that house is  fantastic...I love those old Saratoga homes...gorgeous!!

That house is known simply as "The Mansion." It's located on the south end of Congress Park, on Circular St.

Here's a shot I took last year in the Park. They sure know their horticulture up there.

badcompany...thanks again...another great photo. Ya think they have a gardener :D ... beautiful place.
When I used to get up there from Belmont, I spent a lot of free time driving around looking at all those fabulous old homes.

Can a person still get up to see the place that President Grant has up there? it's on a mountain, and one time driving up there my car died... when it was time to leave, just put 'er in neutral and coasted down :D

I've stayed there, it's awesome. I'm not really a Bed & Breakfast person, but the food, pool, comfort and location were awesome. It's newly renovated. Call the owner, he would probably work out a weekly rate!

Looks awesome! Although, I like staying in town. Nothing like getting up, having breakfast, then, walking to the track.

All this talk about 'Toga made me decide to go up there a week early. I will be swimming in this pool on Monday!

For anyone who might be interested, a woman who lives across the street from the Saratoga house I rent on weekends told me yesterday that the house behind her is available for the week preceding Travers, 8/17-23. The price is $2,000 for the week. The house is also available for the week of 8/10-16. Same price.

The houses in this development, which runs off Glenmore Ave & W. Circular St, are less than 10 years old. Nice quiet neighborhood.

E-mail me if interested and I'll pass on this Realtor woman's phone #
