i made a comment on another thread how much i like the 11 horse in the 6th race. i headed to the otb willing to bet with both hands at 15 to 1, i even thought it would go higher. he won, but went off at 1.10 to 1. sat on my hands. how do the morning line odds sometimes get so screwed up?????

when was your last 15-1 winner?? if you have them often then you would know the ml was off...if not, then I guess you are handicapping the same as everyone else is, thus NOT seeing a poor ml

This is why I rarely look at the ML anymore.

Most morning line makers are incompetent. There is very little incentive for them to get better, either.

I thought the # 11 towered over that field. Could not see her being anything but the favorite by most handicapping methods.Another ML that bugged me recently was at Evangeline Saturday night -- 8th race, Bubbaslittlesister, stepping up from 5000 clmg to state bred N1X. She won her last two races by 5 and 11 lengths, Brisnet speed ratings of 89 and 83, only one other horse in the field broke 80 in any of her last three races. She had 7 lifetime wins and the rest of the field added up to 8 wins total. 20-1?? Went off at 3-1 and won.
