Should be a great week of racing at Ascot. I've travelled to the UK a lot on business but never was able to squeeze in a visit to the track although with otb outlets on every single corner in London I was able to wager quite often.

The Queen just rolled up in a horse drawn buggy - can't beat the tradition.

I'm going with the horse for a course angle in the 1st, #2, the major downside is weak pp in G1's.

Unfortunately I have to work during the day, but my DVR is recording the Ascot card from TVG. I would love to see more movement among American horses running at the Ascot meeting and other major meetings in Europe. We've only had a few horses over the last several years attempt to cross the pond. I remember Leo O'Brien's Fourstars Allstar shipping to Ireland and winning the Irish 2000 Guineas. That was really something. I also remember the female turf sprint specialist Klassy Briefcase shipping to Ascot to run in a Group I 5 Furlong sprint, although she did not fair well over the going. It's refreshing to hear Steve Asmussen say that the plan is to run Curlin in the Arc. I hope he gets there and proves to the world that he's the best horse on any surface.

He will get only the finest ladies with money hanging on their bridles. I would hope he would be more successful throwing top colts.

You can sign up here and watch for free. Unfortunately I got so busy today I forgot, but 4 more days left. On a side note, for some reason when I use these sort of pop up video on the net, the picture is all green. Did the same when I was watching stuff from NYS senate. I'm probably missing a proper update. Anyone know the workings of such things?

I was very close by in March (didn't realize HOW close) and did not get there. Here is a shot from Google Earth.

OTM Al,

ATR has a section of all yesterday's races as well as live and a video library.
I don't know if you can access from the US as they keep arresting company directors who travel to the States. If it not that issue then for ATR you need Internet Explorer and Windows Media Player - as up to date as possible. The site will add any plug ins that you need.

Funny thing. It accessed fine, but when I actually signed up, there was no USA to choose from on the list of countries so I just selected "Other". It was working today (I turned it on before the racing started and then not til after, so maybe it blacked out in the middle?)
