Thanks for the photo's Donnie.

I'm pretty sure the woman in aqua on the tan horse is Caton Bredar...

Thanks Ian!
If that is the case, can one of the Moderators change that caption for me..?...too late for me to edit it! Goes to show you how much attention I pay to the TV telecasts!

BB looked tired in those shots.
That is Bo Derek.
I don't think that's Lukas' wife........
You also got a bloodstock agent in the second pic of BB.;)

I thought that was Bo Derek too but I was afraid to say so for the risk of seeming like an idiot if I was wrong. She's actually a fan of the sport and attends the KY Derby most years.

What do you make of the Trump Taj Mahal hats Dutrow and crew were wearing? Only wearing them for the Belmont Stakes.....

Undoubtedly they were paid to wear them, just like BBs' pony rider was paid to wear a UPS jacket on a 90+ degree day.;)

I don't know who the woman with D Wayne is....but the guy is Carl. He used to be a valet and now works in Ocala. Good guy.

Those are some sharp high def pics Donnie.
You wouldn't happen to have one likened to those with Casino Drive's mug in the shot?

As for BB looking tired in those paddock shots....please expound (my new favorite word) on that a bit, would you please Shenanigans? Might help me pick out a few other tired ones in the future....

Here is a link to a photo taken during his post parade on Preakness Day:
http://www.eleganthorsepictures.com/big-brown-preakness-parade.html

Note the shiny coat. It looks wet but it isn't. Note the way he is carrying his head, the position of his ears (cocked forward) displaying interest in what's going on around him. The photo itself is a head on shot. If you could see a side view you'd see that his neck has an arch to it. You can't see it in the photo but the motion of his feet is that he's almost dancing on his toes... all good things IMHO.

Now compare that to Donnie's shot (BTW Great Pics Donnie... VERY nice!) of him being walked from the saddling area to the track. He's carrying his head low. There's no arch whatsoever to his neck. His ears aren't showing any interest at all in what's going on around him. They are splayed outward not forward and hardly moved the entire time that he was being walked from the saddling area to the track. While he's being walked and continuing on into the post parade the motion of his feet isn't anything close to dancing on his toes. IMHO he looked like he was in a stupor... doing a kind of a listless walk. And even though it's a hot day where you might expect horses to wash out a little bit his coat looks dull (not shiny) compared to the other shot.

To me he looks dull by comparison.

Jeff-
thanks.
I agree. Just about every shot of him I have he is holding his head about at shoulder height. Although I did not attend the other two Crown races, from what I remember on TV he held his head very high, much like on that pic that you posted Jeff. I have many more shots of him in the walking ring and there is not one of them where he appears "tall and proud". And I agree with your comments on his coat. It was not shiny at all. A couple of us noted that he wasn't even sweating, which many of the horses were on such a hot day. But he didn't have "the shine" either.

he looked and was very dull compared to previous races.even on the walk through the tunnel he was clearly not the same horse as previous.
as i said right after the race, 10 strides out of the gate he was not "it" today. imo.

tough day to be off for sure.

Heat alone will make a horse look like that, but if you compare some of the pics you can see a slight difference. The first thing I notice was his eyes. He looks a little dehydrated, a bit "puffy" under the eye. Horses do get a different look when it's that hot out too, but he just looked a little more run down. That pic of Icabad Crane looked like he felt the same. Where did he finish?;)

Nope Doc, sorry, I don't have any of Casino Drive. Those I posted are actually only 800 X 600 resolution. The originals are 3456 X 2423 (or something like that)....much HIGHER resolution. If anyone wants a copy of the higher res shots, you know how to get ahold of me!
