If you watch the pan shot from the opening stages, I believe you will see BB absolutely GUNNING for the hole between the rail and Da'Tara...and then you'll see Kent put on his roller derby skates...and the rest is history.

If Turcotte had pulled the same stunt when Secretariat gunned for the lead early in the Preakness, the chart would have called Big Red rank as well....(note I am not trying to compare BB to BR, just making a point).

Also, I am pretty certain BB finished the race and crossed the finish line with Kent aboard. If that's true, why does the chart seem to indicate he stopped before the finish line....is it because Kent stopped riding and the horse was distanced?
