With Dmr and Sar openings in a little over a month, the 2y olds are really starting to work. This is my favorite time of year. To watch these possible triple crown runners get their start. Many of the better ones are introduced during these meets. I'll point out a few that I feel are worthy as they take the track for the first time(before they run). A few pan out, but as we know most do not.

There's a good article on the Bloodhorse website about Winning Colors 2 yr old filly winning at Churchhill. She won impressively. I hope she turns out to be something.

It was an unexpected pleasure go to Bloodhorse.com late this afternoon and discover Ocean Colors (Orientate x Winning Colors) had made such an auspicious debut. She won on the lead by 5 1/2.

I was a big fan of Winning Colors back in the day. I always hoped she'd produce a top runner so it'd be nice if this one turns out to be a good one. This filly doesn't look as big and rangy as mom but she coverd five furlongs in 57.08. Steve Asmussen trains her.

Pictures are here.

The 3rd and 4th pictures show something of momma's that she does have - her butt.
