Was a domain name and hosting plan definitely agreed upon, or is that all still up for debate? HORSEPLAYERSUNITED.COM would get my vote. Keep in mind though, you can always sign up for as many domains as you want and just point them all to the same server. HORSEPLAYERSUNITED.COM, HORSEPLAYERSUNITED.ORG, HPU.com, etc.etc, and make them all point to the same site.
As far as hosting plan, I saw GoDaddy being mentioned. I'd like to submit the company I use exclusively for my websites, it's called WestHost. After trying a hafl dozen or so different hosts, I finally found WestHost about 5 years ago and I've never looked back. When it comes to hosts, IMO the #1 most important thing is customer service and tech support. WestHost blew every other host I've ever used out of the water in this area, they're outstanding. Most of the hosting plans out there offer nearly the same software packages, space, email accounts, and all that, but what really sets them apart is customer service.
One thing I think is going to be essential here is having free mailing list management software so that people can sign up to receive a free e-newsletter from The Group. (And so that they can "unsubscirbe" to said e-newsleter if they so choose). A mailing list manager makes life a helluva lot easier than try to send out hundreds of emails "by hand" through your everyday email app. I've used Dada Mail in the past and liked it, but there are a bunch of other good ones out there too I'm sure. I'd make sure whatever plan gets chosen has a free mailing list manager.

MN,
Thanks for the suggestion. Cost is a factor. Although someone mentioned they would contribute a little. I'd be willing to chip in some cash, too.
If I'm not mistaken, PA might be able to create a subdirectory where the association can have a URL -- something like http://www.paceadvantage.com/association. I assume this would cost very little, if not free, until the organization gets off the ground.
The benefit to PA is that when the link to the association is mentioned in press releases, etc., PA's website would get exposure.

I can even give the website the server space it'll need for free until Oct 5th when my current account expires. I've got virutally unlimited space and bandwidth until then. All that would need to happen is someone register the domain, someone design the site, and I'll set up a directory for it on my server and give the FTP info to whoever is going to upload it. Well, it's an option anyway, at least for the first few months or so.
