I always handicap a racecard from the LAST race back to the first; therefore, when I put together Pick-3,4, or the Blue Moon Pick-6 ticket, it's always structured from the LAST LEG to the first. I write that because after seeing the DD @Suffolk Wednesday, I'd have been hard-pressed to gather the interest to study the remainder!
That being said, it's a BUSY week in East Boston, as Suffolk had a Big Memorial Day card & have to fill a special SUNDAY card June 1st.
(The HOT DOG SAFARI, a great event, check mymyspace blog below).
There should be BIG POOLS to jump into today at Suffolk Downs with Belmont & Hollywood Dark.
Here's a few thoughts, along with early Pick-3 & Pick-4 plays.(Pick-3 starts on Races 3 & 7;Pick-4 on Race 6)-
1st - Caution: SLOW HORSES! Mike Gill keys Ice-Cold Trifecta, 2-8-5. Maybe It'll pay $12...NOT!
2nd- Field of 8 a combined 8-for-193 Lifetime! #4, Love To Be A Hero, couldn't find easier in a $5 Whorehouse;
#8, Here On Out won last...slooowly; #1,Southern Renegade will be close early vs. these.
3rd- #8,Cocoa beach Rocket..ZOOMING BY!; #6,Lucky Straight,trainer En Fuego; #5,Sir Vinsky, regresses?
3rd@Suffolk: $1P3(6,8)(2,12)(1,5,6)=$12 & 3rd@Suffolk: $1P3(all)(2)(6)=$8 $20 Total Play
4th- Captain Obvious- #2,Southern Twister,Now or Never;#12,Dumpster Drive,bad post;#10,Zapper, steps up
5th- #6,Romolo's Wine, dictates pace; #1,Runs With Scissors, Botty+Hole=$$; #5,Jason's Miacle,logical,10YO?
6th- ChalkEaters Start to Pick-4?.#4,Electric Mt. 4/5 @post; #3,Proud Fortune,Loves to win;
#1 Gitano, BOMBSAWAY Closer could surprise if top two hook up.
6th@Suffolk: $1Pick-4(1,3,4)(2,6)(2)(5,9)=$12
7th- #6, BL's Metropolitan, could be lonely leader; #2,Tsuris,All-Sysytems Go!;#3,Yes It's Timmy,improving
7th@Suffolk: $1Pick-3(2,3,6)(1,2,4)=$9
8th- #2, Flirt For Fame, super last; #1,Nijinsky's Bullet, 5w-6p-1s=12 Suffolk Starts; #4,Panell/Rigatttieri
9th- #9, Zavata's Trip, FTBute+Top team=$4winner;#5,Jeniesluckypeni..interesting,$?; #7,prep for route?

That concept never crossed my mind. So If I looked in the result chart pools for Suffolk on days the big tracks are dark,I should see a significant handle increase vs the days the big tracks run? That implies horseplayers need their action and cant take 2 days off.

I must confess I did play Yavapai yesterday(never played it before) and it was fun and interesting with much larger payouts than I would have guessed.

With TVG televising the Entire card, Wednesday has been berry,berry good for Suffolk's handle. I'm thinking $2.5 mil is possible today.
Monday, Equibase added a "4" to Suffolk's ITW handle, reporting $4.4 in ITW wagers; $460K more like it! :confused:

Just a follow up to your theory.

Suffolk Pools(ITW=Inter track wagering)

Wed 5/28 with Bel and Hol dark ITW pool $2.2M
Mon 5/26 with Bel and Hol running ITW pool $4.4M

Exactly opposite of what you said.

I was blown away Tuesday when I saw handle listed, so I went to the DRF PDF Files for the races @ Suffolk Monday. I didn't do an exact $$ total, but the figures work to about $588,095 in WPS/EX/TRI/SUP; & $34,395 in Multi-race wagers, for a total of $622,490. But thanks for checking my info; I'm often mistaken. :blush:
