I had this problem a couple of years ago, now it's back.
I had my computer off all day yesterday and this morning I had over FORTY deleted blank email.
Last time I had this problem, you guys told me how to have them automatically deleted, and I did.
I was just curious as to why we get these?
I think Ralph may have explained, but I can't remember.
Just curious. I get them once in a while.....maybe one or two, but 40????

somebody you know may have a virus and their computer is sending them without them knowing it. Just keep deleting them. Don't open any........

I use Outlook Express. I went to Tools......Message rules

Where the From line does not contain '@'
And where the To line does not contain'@'
delete it

This deletes them automatically.

I cannot find "where the fromline does not contain"

I cannot find "where the fromline does not contain"

selct contains,
and then after you add the adress,
select OPTIONS,
then "does not contain"

In the event you select "Delete" rather than "Delete from server", you must also select "stop processing more rules".

In the event you have pre-existing email filters?
You may wish to move this up to the TOP of your list in order.

1. The email may be coming in a rich text or html format and your email program may only be able to read a plaint text format.

2. The antivirus program may be stripping all of the words from the email.

3. It may be intentional spam. They send numerous blank emails to find a legit email address before sending the actual message. Most anti spam program are keyed to certain words. Send no words and the email is not blocked.

4. Funniest cause can be just as simple as the font in the email being set to the same color as your email programs background so the message appears to be invisible.

That's interesting, Dutchboy
I have anti spy ware....Webroot.....and the new version of my virus protection EsET Nod 32 also has a spy ware.
Perhaps I should call EsET and question them about it?

Webroot does have something called spam shredder. I don't know what it shreds. I used to have Webroot but deleted the program for a reason I can't recall.
