How about these duke surgeons who replaced the 17 year old girl's organs with Type A blood, when she is Type O?
Looks like she is now legally braindead. Very sad (and costly) mistake.
I can see a lawsuit being settled for $5-10 million..

I'm astounded by the MAGNITUDE of basic errors: Wrong type
of blood donor; Wrong side of the brain operation; Wrong leg
removed; Tiles coming loose on takeoff; 911 operators not
knowing a code to send help; etc etc ... just fill in the horror
stories. Now I know most things go smoothly, but don't these
dumb mistakes make you shake your head in dis-belief?
These erros are not malpractive - they are calous disregard for the patient and insuracne should not cover them. This idiot surggeon is not fit to treat patients ever again, and he should do jail time. There is absolutely no excuse for this type of thing happening.

It shoud have never happen. End of story.
I went in for some surgery on my hand about a month ago. I took a black sharpie marker and on my hand I put
" Cut here" with an arrow to the spot. on the other hand I wrote "wrong hand" The doctor told me it was great. He called it "Prudent" and laughed.

I see now they pulled the plug, but why is it that they are refusing to donate her organs?

The organs would be hard pressed to be placed......due to the massive anti rejection drugs and the stress placed on them in the last days. They would get a double dose of physical stress during the new implant

Not to mention that the surgeons obviously have trouble deciphering between A and O
