I think somebody got paid big time on this one................

Ralph, I have no idea if this was a betting coup, but if it was you'd think those involved would bet enough to get the horse lower than 43-1. The "displaying vast improvement in racing ability" is the typical comment made by the Philly Park chart caller when a longshot with no established form wins. Sort of his way of saying something was fishy, I guess---so maybe he's with you on this one.

A horse that pay 88 bucks most likely wasn't the result of a betting coup.
There may have been a betting coup in that race, but the coup picked the wrong horse.

The horse just ran 13 days ago which was his debut and on top of it he was green. A horse with only 1 lifetime race is certainly eligible to improve and most do in their 2nd start. There was no betting coup in the race at all.
