Congratulations to Mike Luzzi on his 3000th win. Pretty impressive considering he rides in the toughest jockey colony six months out of the year and has never really been a first call rider for any big stables.

Mike was seriously injured in a paddock accident today at the Big A.

Hard working journeyman jock, one of racing's underrated grinders, thoughts and well wishes out to Mike.

He had just gotten a leg up in the paddock and the horse flipped over .

His Pelvis fractured , five places they report as well as his Tibia .
He will be transferred tomorrow from Jamaica hospital .

I truly wish him as speedy recovery as possible !

The horse Tricky Zippy was not seriously inured according as
reported by Ray Paulick !

Oh Crap....All the best for a speedy recovery Mike.

Timing sucks as Mike excels in the cold weather meets at NYRA.

Hope he makes full recovery, and the sooner he gets transferred out of Jamaica General the better his chances will be. That hospital is a sh*thole

Five breaks to his pelvis. Oh my... Prayers for this man, wishing him the best. And too, the strength to endure. This will be quite a long road.

I think at this point, he will take ANY recovery, speedy or not.

I can't even imagine the type of pain this type of injury would be, thank god for modern medicine and pain killers, if you got this injury 100 years ago, it's a lot worse.

Good luck to Mike and his recovery, you're right, very underrated jock, he just shows up, blends in, and does a great job.....if i was a thoroughbred owner, this is the type of jock i'd be using.
