ThoroughbredZone Preakness Pick 3 And Preakness Play
Big Brown willbe a huge favorite today, and I will not make a win play on him at 2/5. A pick 3 can offer value, and does not look overly impossibale on paper.
Race 10-The Dixie-Shakis looks to standout as the clear cut choice based on earnings and class. He is a multiple GI contender and broke a course record at Saratoga on Travers day. The other horse that will offer value and could go off as high as 15/1 is the Phipps horse Pick Six. He has never won a graded stakes, but good horse finally break through. Horse looks to move foward off his last and comes in with a strong rush.
Race 11-The Allaire DuPont Distaff-This race offers a lot of speed and my top pick Wow Me Free skipped this spot to run in New York. We are not going to get fancy here. I’m going to use the all button. Tough race and a price is what I’m looking for
Race 12-The Preakness Stakes-Not looking at anyone past Big Brown. Clearly the top pick after his Kentcuky Derby win. Even if he does move back off his last, there is nothing in this race that can offer a big threat to him, so I will single Big Brown here.
Pick 3 play 4,9/All/7 for a buck will cost $18. A wise play for $18 bucks. Certainly better then trying to play Big Brown at 2 to nothing.
As for the Preakness staright play. I would put Big Brown on top in the Triple with some price horses hunder that could clunk up for a piece, such as Macho Again, Yankee Bravo, Stevil, Racecar Rhapsody, Icabad Crane, Giant Moon. Riley Tucker, and Kentucky Bear. Kentucky Bear might be the only horse in the race that could make an impact. Could he win…I doubt it, but running second in this bunch is not out of the question.
Tri play goes 7/1,3,4,6,8,9,10,11/1,3,4,6,8,9,10,11
A $16 play for a dollar. You certainly won’t go broke.
