These are some of the variables that I use in my (home grown) toteboard reading program.

Rank Conditions
1 Base<ML and Odds >ML; (exclude >(29) ML)
2 Base>ML and Odds <ML;
3 Base is greater Pts <ML;
4 Base is greater % <ML;
5 Base>ML and Odds =<ML;
6 Base<ML and Odds =>ML; (exclude >(29) ML)
7 Odds are greater % <Base;

"Rank" is user defined.
"Base" is user defined MTP.
"BF" is user defined.

The bottom line ranks the horses to my choice of variables and presents me with WPS and exotic combinations.

I would not want to base my money on a descrepancy between the money bet on race day and the estimation of a public handicapper who did the figures in 30 minues with an Equibase "workprint" of the program 2 or 3 days before the actual race. Some do it even further in advance.

Many morning lines are stone wrong and using them as a decision basis means that will be betting on wrong estimation of the public handicapper much more than tote action.
