I was talking to my wife with 4 minutes to post as I wrote my selection so didn't have time to give units.

Generally I'll use the exactas as a saver +...the idea is to keep the money steady until my keys win. I'm just testing this now. Not sure how it will turn out.

Figuring most of my bests will be off the morning line, I'll do a straight 60/40 on the shorter/longer odds horse. Not the best way to do it, but easy to chart.
Total units to win $20.
$2 exactas on each saver.

Last race bet $28, get back $23.60 or so.

Wagering has always been my weak point. I want to determine once and for all whether I should just bet my two longshot keys to win and use NO savers. What kind of effect will that have on my bankroll? Maybe in the long run I would do better, but I agree with Rick: better to have a slightly smaller ROI and conserve the bankroll and your mental health.

Race 9

3, 10 to win ($12 on the 10, $8 on the 3)

5, 8/3,9,10

Total

$32.

BTW, today these are done JUST USING BEYERS. (not my usual method)

8 was scratched late, so I saved money

5-3 exacta -- 63.50

hit the tri too $88 for a buck. (without the 8, it's $12)

spent 26 (excluding tri), won 37.

for the day.
Bet 2 races

54...returned 87. ROI is about 60%.
