Picks for Belmont Sunday:
R1 - #1 Summer Palace - Returns to Belmont where 2 of his 3 lifetime wins are. Last jock to win with him gets back on today.
R2 - #1 Skylighter - Didn't have the best trip when shipped to Keeneland last out. Sports a noteworthy drill over this surface and the blinks come back off.
R3 - #5 Real Estate - Comes back to BEL for a good barn. Gets blinks today and can improve here at a price.
R4 - #4 Repenthouse - Has had excuses in every start. Should wake up a bit with the drop to MCL and the cut in distance.
R5 - #5 Fiona Freud - Ran well in turf sprints last year. Ran pretty well off a long break before. Should be a factor here.
R6 - #5 Grand Presidium - All his dirt sprints are good efforts. Lightly raced runner most likely has his problems, but an honest effort should put him in the mix here.
R7 - #11 Carry the Day - Will get to run against allowance company finally after 3 stakes tries. Has a solid worktab for comeback.
R8 - #2 Summer Doldrums - Has run pretty well in graded stakes events. Last race can be excused as a probable prep race. Expect better today.
R9 - #4 Spurred - Logical contender here figures to improve with 2nd off the layoff here.
R10 - #7 Granted Tiger - Should move up on the turf here.
