This post is very difficult for me to post. But earlier today John Hendley passed away. I just spoke with his wife Sheila and she has asked that I pass along this sad news.

John felt light headed, passed out and never recovered. John and I have became good friends over the last several years, first on the internet and last him making a move to Phoenix Arizona.

His laughter, smiling face and just overall upbeat attitude will be missed.

John loved horseracing as much as life itself and hopefully he is ringside now for the greatest racing field of all times.

I will miss him,

Bill

P.S. PA if you want to move this post I understand, but thought it fit here first for individuals that knew John.

Very sorry to hear about your pal John. Would I have known him

Bill:
I just read through all his posts. He was such a nice man!
It always saddens me when I hear we have lost another horseplayer.......there aren't that many of us left!
To lose a good guy on this board is doubly sad.
RIP
John Hendley/Baravot.

John was a very good man indeed and someone that I have been an online friend with for years. I am going to miss his handicapping insights and sense of humor.

I am still in shock and at a loss for words but I do pray for his friends and family.

As his pal did you know Y he used Baravot? I never heard of that
word plus I was trying to figure it out. Maybe it was a horse he
liked.. hehe ... probly some tough filly ... anyways, what tracks did he prefer & was he a Speed capper? I just read some of his posts & he seemed liked a very easy going guy. my type of pal. derek

Derek,

Can't recall why John used that nic, but he was a great guy!!!

John's favorite tracks were Mountaineer and Santa Anita and he used many methods of handicapping a race.
