And Nbc's coverage for the last half hour has been about local omellettes and homosexuals talking about their preferred Derby silks.
Anyone that takes this game even semi-seriously should be offended by whats going on here today.
Between Hugh Heffner and his bimbettes and all of the other nonsensical coverage, it's a push to go back to the trotters. No kidding.
The triple crown and the breeders cup have become a tourist paradise while human beings like Josh Rasosevich fall by the wayside.
Very sad.

I agree. When the Super Bowl is on the networks spend no time whatsoever on the "special interest" type stories or celebrities. Oh wait...

Come on, every post you've made today is about how everything the networks do is setting back racing by 20 years. By my count racing has been set back to about 1758 today because you don't like celebrities or less-than-absolutely serious coverage.
Lighten up, you'll live longer.

Are you guys new to the Derby?

The Derby is the culmination of a week long festival and string of endless parties. Has been for a long as I can remember.

It isn't about that to everyday horseplayers, but to the majority of the people who tune in and come to the event, that is all it is about.

And they spend millions $$$!!!

It is what it is!

I agree with you! Don't lump me in with that.

AND many of the 150,000 partiers at the Derby and many of the millions tuning in via television will look back someday and be able to say THIS DAY was the first day they became a horse racing fan.

They come for the event and some end up becoming fans.

Like me...Spectacular Bid 1979

Too bad none of those 150,000 just heard Dutrow say he has decided to NOT bet on his horse! Now I am VERY interested to see the outcome!!!

He has very little shot Donnie. IMO anyway.

Final segment times of his dirt races have be far to slow to translate in to winning the Derby.

He got shut out at TS - the morons can't handle on line betting!
Now I have zero interest in the stupid race. Not even going to bother watching it.

Time to move on......

Cleverly selected word - '"little" instead no chance.

Man this is really sad. Eight Belles going down is horrible.

We lost a fine filly today.

Glad I missed it.
And also that drug clown winning it...I can live without seeing his kind win.

He is no one to repect without question, but to his defense on this one issue, I doubt he knew at the time he was jumping around.
