Let's start with the all-time excuse provider, Ken McPeek (from the DRF):
Ten Cents a Shine, who finished sixth in the Fountain of Youth as the 5-2 favorite, came out of the race with a lung infection, according to his trainer, Ken McPeek.
Then the intuitively obvious conclusion (that most of us drew after the BC Juvenile) from Patrick Biancone (from the DRF):
"No excuses. He just can't stay the distance, simple as that," Biancone said. "I knew there was a chance he might not stay. It was a question mark."
Contenders on the fence (IMHO):
Funny Cide (Lung Infection?)
Bham (Injury?)
Sky Mesa (Running out of time-can't miss a beat from here)
Toccet (Another looking at physical problems and a closing time window)
