"Yesterday's disappointing run in the Fountain of Youth Stakes (G1) by Ten Cents A Shine can be easily explained. When Jerry Bailey came back and said the horse had just stopped early in the race, it was decided to scope him to check for any problems with his respiratory system. When our vet looked down his airway, he found signs of a pretty good lung infection. Bad news for the day, but good news in the whole scheme of things. It's funny, because Ten Cents has shown absolutely no signs of being sick....no temperature, he's been feeling feisty, and eating well. We had him scoped right after his last breeze, and he was perfect. This is just something that came up very recently, and he's such a trouper, he showed no signs of any problems. He'll be treated, and we will just throw this race out the window"
