No-toe-rious cyberbomb thrower Toetoe will be making an appearance --- in the audience --- at the Duplex, 61 Christopher Street, New York, N.Y., this coming May 13, a Tuesday. It seems a young lady will be performing a kind of solo (sola ?) cabaret show at 9:30 that evening. The rumors that she is the first foal by Toetoe out of a Brasilian mare are, well ... true, I guess.

One function I can serve is as a diversion for prospective fruit throwers. Before they're able to pelt the stage, I may identify myself, thereby diverting their rage in my own direction.

Anyway, any PA'er attending might just look for the handsome heterosexual. Don't laugh; I may be the ONLY heteroid. I hope I am gaily situated in a good seat, as I am loath to pay (for) sad vantage. :bang:

Admission will be $5.00. FIVE STINKIN' DOLLARS ??? Wahyahyadda ..

Actually toe that would be West Village. Walked by the place several times. Right on the corner so you can't miss it

I fully expect Glen to be there, Light.

Thanks, Al. I got bad information from transplanted New Yorkers here in Las Vegas. They get a big, fat ... :p .

They must have been looking at New York, New York casino for too long.....Christopher St. in the West Village has been traditionally a gay oriented area. There are several bars right around where you will be, but the Kettle of Fish is the only more or less straight oriented one, having been transplanted from the Village proper a few years back. Right around the corner is the famous Stonewall Inn which is of course known as the place where the gay rights movement began in NYC, if one likes the popular history. Around the corner once again is a bar where one of my friends from work took me a few months ago called Julius's. It was known in the gay community as the more conservative gay bar in the area. Inside it just looks like any regular old time corner bar, right down to the old pictures on the walls of boxers, football players and TC horses. If you want a great hamburger however, it is the place to go. I work just a little east of there at NYU. I have my pool league that night, so I can't stick around, but if you want a little tour guiding for the area, drop me a PM.

Well done. Pride in the creative endeavors of offspring is a nice thing. I hope it goes swimmingly.

That fin is just to walk in the door. There'll be a two drinkipoo minimum. I suspect you'll be surrounded by the likes of wine coolers, Sea breezes, Tom Collins', Pina Colatas, colorful Martini's, Apple Puckers & the like.

Order up "manly". Get a Dewars or Johnny W. Let 'em know you're hetero, baby. And damn proud.

McNulty's is at 109 Christopher Street - if you like coffee and history, stop in for the smell alone, the tin ceiling and the 1890's feel of the place; they sell beans and will grind.

Again, if you're into history at all, the Duplex is also the where the building where Thomas Paine (Am Revolution era author of Common Sense) lived - he died in a house on Grove Street.

There is usually a Mud Coffee Truck (orange) parked on Sheridan Square (W 4th Street & 7th Ave about 100 yards from the Stonewall) behind the 1 subway station - check out their stuff - pretty awesome for the cup of coffee that isn't served at McNulty's. The interesting thing about the location is that there is a Starbuck's within throwing distance from 3B to 1B.

To get to NYU - Washington Square in the East Village - you continue east on West 4th Street, crossing 5th Ave. There are interesting places to eat from Sheridan Square to 5th Ave. with Cornelia Street having a few all by itself. The most "famous" are Pearl Oyster (http://www.pearloysterbar.com/ ), Le Gigot (http://www.legigotrestaurant.com/ ), and Po (http://www.porestaurant.com/main/ ) Po is where Mario Batalli got started.

There is a new one on Great Jones Street called Perilla - opened by the first winner of Top Chef - haven't been there yet but it is supposed to be very good. http://nymag.com/listings/restaurant/perilla/

Do they have an analogue to San Francisco's SUKKERS LIKKERS ? I get all my spirits right there at the Poke ... oops, make that the Polk Street location.

I'll send Al a PM, and a BM (an example of a weblog ;) ) for bigmack --- heywaitaminit, those are his initials. Sorry, I just stepped in that, er, stumbled upon that innocently.
