Anyone know the reason why the Hawthorne races have been delayed today? At a couple of toteboard sites, it's been stuck on race 1 for almost an hour now.
Thanks,

Looks like after a lengthy delay today, the HAWTHORNE races have resumed.:jump:.

The only thing I've heard so far is that it was an unforseeable delay. Whatever the heck that means.

The riders refused to ride, they have been trying to raise the mount fees in Chicago for some time. By the article, it looks like they succeeded.

I have to wonder about whether the jockeys have special races for traveling expenses. (Yeah, I know Arlington is very close by)
Check the 7th race yesterday.
11 betting interests
7-1 winner 7-2 place horse
11-1 third horse.
Tri paid only $357
Time of the race for non winners in 6 months was very slow. 1 1/16th in 1:49
Ist by 1, 2nd by 2, 3rd by 3.
These are the type of races worth investigating.
