I thought these stats were very misleading.

"34% raced in the blue grass as a final prep."

uh, that was when it was still on dirt.

The dual quals were directly taken, as a jpg, from Dr. Steve Roman's site (I hope they gave attribution, 'cause they didn't even try to re-format Dr. Roman's box....it looks like they just scanned the photo and reposted it.)

I don't call this research......it's regurgitation. Research is guys I know that have kept records on just about every detail for 30 years in their own database, and can give you the *real* story.

Sorry, hope I don't offend full card reports. I can look up the winners of the prep races this year and for the last 10 years rather easily, actually. I saw nothing in any of these reports that isn't easily pulled up from any site on the internet.

"81% won or finished 2nd in final derby prep"

D'oh. What horseplayer in their right mind wouldn't already know that and be looking at the win/place horses in the derby preps? :bang:

 I gotta agree... and to add something...I'd have to pretty much toss out any stat that is dated before we go the rubber surfaces...that crap changed everything concerning Derby preps & stats...IMO :)

To be safe, keep Stately Victor in your superfecta ticket. He'll run a good one.

I think they forgot that 2009 existed, since they didn't include it in their *research*.

For that matter, I wish 2009 hadn't existed...unfathomable Derby winner, another BC over the synthetics, and the icing on the cake is I got laid off from a very good job
