Contessa Socks it to Fort Drum

Trainers are often guilty of being biased towards their horses and tend to speak very highly of them after even a minor stakes win. Gary Contessa could definitely not be accused of that in his comments after his charge, Fort Drum’s win in the NY Stallions Times Square Stakes at Aqueduct yesterday.

Contessa said, “He runs like a moron. He ran like a 2YO making his first start. I have never seen a horse run this stupid and win.”

I’d hate to hear what he’d say if the horse losses, though I find his frankness refreshing and amusing. LOL.

I heard Gary interviewed recently on the Roger Stein show. He's very candid and a joy to listen to. He's a trainer who will actually tell you something that can help your handicapping and or help you make money. I like listening to him.
