Critics Choice and Tic Wilcutts
JOHN "TIC" WILCUTTS
Born 11/23/19, Magnolia, Del.
Weight: 120
Career earnings through 1969: $2,901,653
Career victories through 1969: 1,258

Starting as an owner-trainer-driver in 1951, the enormously talented Wilcutts began leading the driver lists at Baltimore and Laurel in 1956. Became a national figure in 1961, when only two drivers won more races. His .355 UDR was eighth in the standings, and be rated among the top 13 in money won. Out with injuries in 1962, he resumed his victorious ways during the following year and now is entrenched among the Brandywine-Liberty Bell leaders. A resourceful catch-driver with an alert, brainy style, he is an asset to any kind of Standardbred. Can be depended on to win about 20 percent of his annual starts.
