Race #1.

2 w 1.6 w 1.3.4.6
1,2,6 exb and remember this #6 has only got 1 win from 22 starts @ todays distance even with Thornton up would be a surprise on top.
Campbell is on this #2 and he's been very sharp early on this meet.

Race #2.

2 At least the #2 has great connections and is moving in first time for a tag even if he's lukewarm here.
7 Has the hot jock and he has experience hitting the board with this horse. A good wheel for exotics, 3rd, 4th
6 #6 drops from straight maidens into statebred types and has some late kick here vs. a bit cheaper stock
4 Firster's works are decent and has an opportunity vs. a weak bunch. Trainer 8-0-3-1 this meet. Try in 2nd here at 6-1
5 Use the #5 in 4th only. This is a horrible field but just can't trust 0-11 in the top 3 spots and no class change.

1 Could not use
3 very poor worktab…

suggested plays:
2,4,6 w 2,4,6,7 w 2,4,5,6,7
2 w 4 w 5,6,7 on 1 ticket for coverage.
2,6 w 2,6 w 4,5,7

Race #3.
1,2,6 exb/ 1,6 w 1,2,5,6
cover a 1,3,6 tri box if interested but not impressed with this #3.

6 Moving up from n2l but Kirby and Karlson are 7 for 12 on the board this meet and 6 of those are top 2 spots, winner by 4 last out
plus has the benefit of being very lightly raced and only has 8 starts to her credit…
1 the other lightly raced one here could attempt a wire job, has been close to the pace in every start so a real threat from the rail
2 1 for 29 @ HAW but does have some decent pace ability and could upset here
3 ??? Hasn't won in 2 years and they are making this one 2-1. Showed little in last 2 and is 9-0-1-1 @ HAW, 3rd only here
5 could see running 3rd here. ***Moves up in my book on an off track, certainly likes to run under. Round out super with ths closer
4 was able to carry speed further on an off track before spitting the bit, still stepping up to 10k level and not impressed

Race #4.

after the #2 and the #6 there's not much else that appears strong, could be anyone up for 3rd here except #7

6 Definitely the one to beat coming out of the Risen Star and the LA Derby
2 Some pretty sharp drills leading up to last out, 2nd back and showed well last out off shelf. EE Perez
1 seems logical likes to run at HAW and jock/trainer combo had some success. 3rd would be no surprise here from the rail

8 another LA Downs shipper that appears to have some potential
5 Richie Scherer trainee has run some competitive races at HAW

4 looks awfully cheap to be competiting here and will be part of the early pace… questionable
7 note when Meier has been up this one hasn't placed well at Hawthorne

Race #5.

pretty confident this is a 5 horse race and challenge is finding the single on top here… try wheeling 1,6,8 in all exotics

6 owen rainwater and lantz, 2nd off extensive layoff and should be rounding back into form, probably needs another one
1 can't discount Thornton and the rail, but last out was the only on the board finish in 7 starts at HAW
8 makes sense here as a win candidate. 4-0-2-1 @ today's distance and Riggs has been close in 2 of last 3 (fast track)
3 fond of running under but 10-0-3-0 @ today's distance and can't trust on top. Had a decent campaign this winter hitting the board…
7 although 2 for 40 agilar has had some minor success on this one and the horse is 12-0-4-1 @ HAW, nice price under

Race #6.

4 Drills are there and FTL
10 Solid drills best of this group leading in along with the other firster, the #4
11 Nice 59 flat going 5f. Trainer 20% 2nd time out + Feb filly.
1 Richie gets this one from Gary and he's pretty respectible first off the claim. Keep in mind worktab has been at FG
and this one draws the rail again. Didn't show much speed in debut so could be a detriment in a field this big again. Lukewarm for board spot.
5 May have caught a weak enough field to be competitive here. Wheel 3rd / 4th
8 put on the bottom of exotics and see if this one can run late with those decent 6f drills

Pass on these...

2 pretty slow drills leading in, appears to be more talent on the outside here
3 0-31 w/ firster and it shows with these drills, pass
6 throwout poly and the turf start and this one hasn't shown much in 3 conventional dirt starts @ HAW
7 0-31 w/ firster and it shows with these drills, pass
9 uncompetitive in 3 starts @ FG.
12 Was not impressed with connections, post or worktab

Race #7.

3 and 9 both look obvious here. Don't trust the #5 on top
with Zimmerman and Lagunes. The #7 dropping could
also pose a real threat here and has the good jock
trainer combo coming in. The #7 is also dropping from
a HCP 8k

3,7,9 exb wheel 3,7,9 w 3,7,9 w 3,5,7,9 w 3,5,6,7,9

Race #8.

7 winner of 3 in a row (last 2 with LaSala) connections clipping @ 38% at HAW 6-4-0-1 at the track, tough
also retains best final time by about 1/2 a second last out
3 Thornton mus be respected here. 6-2-2-0 @ HAW and this one is 2nd back. Could win this sucker
1,6 I like this one and the #1 best for 3rd over the #4

4 the knock here is 5-0-1-2 @ HAW and fairly low (7% connections), prefer #1 in 3rd here
3,7 w 3,6,7 w ,1,3,6,7 w 1,3,4,6,7

2 can probably pretty comfortably toss both the #2 and the #5 here
5 even though the #2 is by Michael Maker

Race #9. - Contenders only...

5 hard to ignore consistency, thornton up and meet record 5-4-0-0
8 looks obvious after last few. Connections 0-10 but has been knocking in last 2
9 Could get the jump here, enjoyed the slop last out and was caught. Ferrer up again, trouble is hasn't won since Dec.06…
which makes it hard to throw this one on top.
7 better post and slight drop to 5k level should help, 3 for 6 on the board at today's dist.
4 nice longshot here the only speed is from the outside and this one may get the early jump.
See if Karlson can hang on for a share here @ 15-1…
