Global Cooling, unlike warming, can happen as suddenly as the collapse of the California real estate market. If a large asteroid or volcano strikes, there will be no growing season in that hemisphere that year. Personally, I plan to stock up on these, http://www.quinault.net/ just in case. (I’m already fully prepared if Global Warming hits New York… I’ll just take off my long johns).

Funny, after all these centuries, so many people are stil afraid of the weather.

Check out what Nasa says.
That is not what NASA said. It is what that reporter (an environmental correspondent(?)) said.
The oldest "tough as nails" perennial ice has decreased by about 75 percent this year, losing 579,200 square miles (1.5 million sq kms, or about twice the area of Texas, he said. This doesn't mean the Arctic is open water during the winter, but it does mean that in many areas, the stronger perennial ice is being replaced by younger, frailer new ice that is more easily disturbed by wind and warm sea temperatures.
Let's see...the ice has decreased, but did not result in open water...hmmm.

Meir is a reproter??
Doesn't matter. Shipyards are already building for when the North West Passage actually opens.Talking about change the world. Whoa.
Shipbuilders is about as conservative as it gets. Hey I have no position. I do have a little money in play.
Y'all want a good bet right now check into Russian transort shipbuilders. I would recommend doint the Norwegians as reference but the dollar vs euro is poop right now.
Anyway, it is your dollar. Invest how you wish.

why why why, build for "that " future if that future is what we now have? that being "open Waters" without Ice Stoppage.
Since we boat thru waters without ICE, with boats capable, why not just keep building the very same boats we now have.
Me thinks, this is what the builders are doing and have been doing for a long time.
What does your report on "Russia Transport Shipbuilders" say?

Nasa's position, after putting robots in the waters of the Antartic is that the water is cooling not warming. More new iceshelf than at any time in history that we have been keeping records. This according to the Pres of Heartland Institute.
Ship Builders or Nasa? Hmmm...

Another Global Warming prophet becomes a heretic:
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/front/5693436.html
...hurricane expert, Kerry Emanuel of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, unveiled a novel technique for predicting future hurricane activity this week. The new work suggests that, even in a dramatically warming world, hurricane frequency and intensity may not substantially rise during the next two centuries ... In the new paper, Emanuel and his co-authors project activity nearly two centuries hence, finding an overall drop in the number of hurricanes around the world...

As the world's super-computers cannot forecast the weather with any accuracy more than 5 days ahead, he has had a Rumsfeld moment about 2 centuries ahead.
"The take-home message is that we've got a lot of work to do," Emanuel said. "There's still a lot of uncertainty in this problem. The bulk of the evidence is that hurricane power will go up, but in some places it will go down."

It is hard to understand but global warming could trigger an ice age. It has happened before. If the ocean currents get stopped we would be in for a several degree drop in our end of the planent.

Damned martians (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martian) and their SUVs.

It was actually caused by a glacier plugging up the MS river basin and sending a lot of fresh water down the St Lawrence. I think that was the last one about 10k BC. Temps dropped about 10 degrees in the NA. A significant change. There is serious historical record of the event.
I will not argue with those who talk about man made polution such as car exhaust or whatever, but man has been removing carbon storeage units-like trees at a rapid place and replacing them with farm land etc.
In the history of our planent we have never seen changes at this pace. Just a fact.

Since the Braves have fewer fans than anyplace on the planet, i'm thinking
"the chop" already caused fewer people, either by hidding or canibalism.
