Wife and I are planning our FIRST trip to NYC around June 4th. We are both retired, full time RV'ers and have NEVER been to NY, let alone the "Big Apple".

We will be staying at an RV park in Freehold, NJ for about a month and from talking to someone there at the park, they are close to a train line that will take us to Penn Station. After that, I HAVE NO CLUE.

We both want to see the sights: Ground Zero, Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Times Square, Wall Street, Empire State Bldg., just to name a few. I have done a little research and am thinking about taking a Gray Line 3-day tour. I would also like to attend a game at Yankee Stadium before they move.

Can you direct me to someplace I can look for Yankee tickets? How about a "reasonable" tour guide that can show us all we want to see?

ANY AND ALL INFORMATION RECEIVED WILL BE GREATLY AND MUCH APPRECIATED.

THANK YOU.

Well Rook;

Take a look, when in Manhatten and hungry, almost anyplace is Very Good.

Cant beat the Bars and Restaurants in NY.

Good example, try "21" at 21 west 52nd in Manhattan.

Take the train (going into), then walk or taxi, to or from anyplace.

Looks like you can get Yankee tkts from their website.

While you're in Manhattan, spend some time in Central Park. Should be nice in June.

As far as getting around, go to Google Maps and print out the major areas of the city.

I've lived in Manhattan my whole life, so, if you have a specific question, feel free to send me a pm.

btw,

Freehold has a harness track w/ simultcasting.

NJ Transit

Little Silver and Red Bank are the closest stations on the North Jersey Coast line

Most sights have web sites, you could type "Empire State Building" in to Google and get their hours, etc.

Highly recommended if you don't mind being indoors or the weather is bad - go early on a Sunday and have the place to yourself for the first few hours - food is decent
